Bringing together engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and documentation at one location. In Deggendorf, DWE delivers seamless end-to-end solutions – from initial concept to final implementation.
DWE supplies key components for industries in transition: the energy sector, Power-to-X, modern refinery processes, defence, nuclear and large-scale scientific projects.
Custom-built. Industrially scaled.
Four business segments.
One goal: securing the future.
DWE represents industrial solutions that secure the future – by ensuring security of supply, advancing technological sovereignty, enabling resilient energy systems and mastering highly complex applications.

DWE’s fields of expertise range from the classical chemical industry to refinery applications and Power-to-X, through to highly demanding special solutions in nuclear and defence.
What connects these fields: high complexity, extreme dimensions, demanding materials and the need for absolute precision. DWE supplies the technical core – custom-built, reliable and without compromise.
Chemicals
DWE designs and manufactures tailor-made tube bundle reactors for exothermic and endothermic chemical processes.
Since 1955, the Deggendorf site has been delivering solutions for the chemical industry. Today, DWE manufactures reactors with up to 60,000 reaction tubes, shell diameters of more than 10 meters and dead weights reaching 1,800 tonnes.
Petrochemicals
As an experienced OEM, DWE supplies critical large-scale process equipment for refinery and FCC units – including reactors, regenerators, hydrocrackers and pressure-retaining spare parts.
Turnarounds and revamps are closely aligned with customer requirements and delivered as an integrated service: technically precise, compliant with applicable standards and designed for maximum plant availability.
Power-to-X
DWE is a leading manufacturer of reactors and core components for the production of climate-neutral fuels such as e-SAF and e-gasoline – and a technology provider for e-methane and e-methanol.
Defence & Nuclear
In safety-critical environments, precision, reliability and uncompromising compliance are essential. DWE combines deep engineering expertise with a thorough understanding of applicable codes and standards to ensure the highest levels of safety, availability and operational efficiency.
A strong network of trusted suppliers across Europe and NATO countries enhances supply chain resilience and ensures the highest standards of quality, security and reliability.
DWE’s secured production site meets stringent security and confidentiality requirements, providing a trusted environment for sensitive projects.
DWE’s track record includes contributions to highly demanding applications, including naval defence projects, fusion reactor technologies and the Ariane 5 test facility – demonstrating its capabilities in complex and security-sensitive environments.
Bigger. Heavier. More complex. That’s exactly what we are built for.

Major challenges require industrial solutions. Whether green methanol, synthetic methane or sustainable fuels made from hydrogen and CO₂: DWE supplies key components for plants that produce new energy carriers on an industrial scale.
At its Deggendorf site, DWE manufactures reactor systems for the chemical and petrochemical industries, pressure vessels manufactured in accordance with international codes and standards, components for refinery applications and specialized equipment for major scientific projects.
Extensive manufacturing capabilities, expertise in handling heavy components and the ability to transport oversized equipment are integral to DWE’s capabilities.
Engineering expertise for industrial complexity.
From the initial concept to final acceptance, DWE covers the entire engineering value chain: thermal and fluid dynamic design, strength and stability calculations, mechanical design, quality assurance and documentation.
DWE is not only a manufacturing partner, but also a technical solution provider. Our engineering expertise extends from heat transfer and thermal management in molten salt and boiling water reactors to the design of entire water-steam cycles.
For decades, technical center, engineering and manufacturing have worked hand in hand at our site – delivering solutions where no blueprint exists.
The world’s first pressure-containing molten salt tubular reactor, magnet support structures for CERN, the KATRIN vacuum vessel, rocket engine test facilities and the plasma vessel as well as the cryostat vessel for Wendelstein 7-X are examples of projects showcasing the full scope and technical depth of DWE’s engineering capabilities.

Built by people who understand precision.
Around 400 people in Deggendorf work on systems and components that have become synonymous worldwide with quality, reliability and safe operation. They weld, inspect, design and deliver – with a quality mindset that leaves no room for exceptions.
