Petrochemistry

Components and services for the reliable operation of refineries.

The manufacture of selected pressure-retaining large-scale components for refineries and their replacement during planned turnarounds require different capabilities that are only rarely combined within a single company. DWE brings together engineering, manufacturing, and on-site execution into a seamless service offering. From design and engineering, through factory manufacturing, to the planning and execution of turnarounds, DWE accompanies these components up to their successful replacement on site. The basis of this approach rests on the experience gained from more than 130 successfully completed turnarounds.

Why petrochemicals

Crude oil will remain an essential raw material for fuels, base chemicals, and numerous industrial value chains. The profitability of modern refineries is largely determined by the availability of critical plant components and the duration of planned turnarounds. Every additional hour in the turnaround has a direct impact on the profitability of the plant.

Position of DWE in the refinery process

Particularly high demands arise in the process-critical units of a refinery, for example in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), hydrocracking or hydrotreating. The reactors, regenerators, columns and pressure-retaining components used there must permanently withstand extreme temperatures, pressures and corrosive media.

It is precisely on these components that DWE focuses – from design and manufacturing to modernization during planned turnarounds.

The real added value arises from the combination of both capabilities. Those who manufacture such large-scale components themselves possess a deep understanding of their design, their materials and their maintenance. This knowledge feeds directly into the planning and execution of turnarounds. At the same time, the experience gained from turnarounds and revamps leads to continuous improvements in the design, manufacturing planning and maintainability of future plant components.
